Case studies
The central section of the second subway line was launched on March 8th, 2015. It is 6.1 km long and it encompasses 7 stations: Rondo Daszyńskiego, Rondo ONZ, Świętokrzyska (interchange station between subway lines), Nowy Świat – Uniwersytet (the deepest subway station – 6 stores underground), Centrum Nauki Kopernik, Stadion Narodowy and Dworzec Wileński.
The line connects the district of Wola on the left bank of Vistula river with Stara Praga on the right bank.
In association with many events that occurred during the contract performance, the Contractor hired independent Experts and Specialists to examine these circumstances and, should these be found justified, to prepare an appropriate claim.

Preparation of claims concerning:
Within the framework of the claims prepared, the Experts and Specialists examined all circumstances and their impact on the course of the project performance. A claim for prolongation of the project completion was supported by a detailed critical path analysis and analysis of delays using the methods: Time impact analysis / As built vs as planned. Performing the analysis on the basis of the As built vs as planned method, the Experts and Specialists took into account the changes in organization of construction works, introduced by the Contractor, consisting of performance of the works using an additional, fourth TBM.
The claims prepared by the Experts and Specialists were filed by the Contractor and most of them were confirmed by the parties.
Thanks to the claims prepared by the Expert, the Contractor was able to extend the project completion time by 11 months. In addition, the documents prepared served as a basis for approval by the Employer of a claim for the amount of PLN 150 million, associated with extension of the project completion time.
